From the WoMo parking space in Petershagen, I made a small mill tour with a detour to the Wilhelm-Busch-Dorf Wiedensahl. I was surprised how many mills there are here!Other highlights were the Neuenknick boulder forest and the Weseraue bird sanctuary.

Today we used the beautiful autumn weather again 🍁🍂🌞 for a short bike tour on the Weser.

Even in bad weather I have to go out! Today I let Tief Ignatz (or was it already one of the successors 🤔) blow me through properly and tested the tightness of my rain jacket (fully o.k. 😀) and the water absorption capacity of my unwaxed Fjällräven pants (my expectations were clearly exceeded 😅).From the Kanu-Club Hameln e.V. to the lonely forest it is only a short distance through the harbor and over the Weser bridge. At the old railway bridge it goes up steeply to the right above the portal of the closed railway tunnel.I then circled the "Riepen" clockwise. Starting at the "Riepen" refuge, there are always beautiful distant views before the path turns right into the forest. Despite the rainy weather, the trails were in good condition. Only towards the end of the tour (approximately from km 11 to 12) was the path badly damaged by a harvester.

Spoiled by the autumn sun, we went on a three rivers tour today. From Bad Karlshafen it went first along the Weser to Beverungen, then a piece along the Bever. For the mountain classification, we then drove three kilometers on the L 890 before turning right onto a farm road to take the Elisenhöhe with us 😅We then cycled on the L 837 to Drenke, where we switched back to farm roads and then plunged into the Nethe valley with a gradient of up to 17%. We were still able to admire the fish-belly girder bridge from 1910, a few hundred meters further on was the "end of the terrain": The great flood had taken the bridge with it in the summer and the successor building was still a long way from being approved 🙄Thanks to komoot, we got back on the planned route via a detour 👍. We got to know the estate of Freiherr von Wolff-Metternich.The rest of the way to the Weser and on the Weser cycle path past Beverungen to Bad Karlshafen went as planned 😀

Autumn is here: cold and foggy; later some high fog, which the sun 🌞 could only partially dissolve before the clouds ☁ came 🙄. Nevertheless we were happy to get some exercise in the fresh air today. We see it positively: it didn't rain 🌧😅We first took the train 🚆 (without changing trains) from Hann.-Münden to Kassel to the main train station (one way per person € 7.20 including bike transport). From there, after a little sightseeing, we went back to Hann.-Münden via the Fulda cycle path. In Karlspark Karlsaue, the fog created an almost mystical atmosphere💫. But we didn't see any elves🧚 or unicorns 🦄, just a few swans 🦢 and ducks 🦆😉The Fulda cycle path is well developed, only the parallel street was occasionally a bit annoying. The really great old town of Hann.-Münden with countless half-timbered houses was the grand finale 👍

Occasionally it is not really comfortable and goes uphill for a short while and some obstacles have to be overcome. After a rain like today you shouldn't be afraid of mud holes. With the high proportion of single trails that often accompany streams, the great landscape and the beautiful forest, I really liked the tour.

I've paddled on the Rur from Heimbach to Obermaubach many times. Today I looked at the landscape from a completely different perspective and in the best autumn weather I hiked on the panorama path from Nideggen to the reservoir in Obermaubach. I was able to admire Nideggen Castle and the sandstone cliffs up close and I was always happy about the great view. When we arrived at the lake, we went to the café restaurant "Stepp am See" on ☕ and 🍰. A nice spot with a view of the lake 👍Then we went back in the valley along the Rur - only for the final ascent to Nideggen we had to give everything again 😅

Today I experienced a personal premiere: A ride on the RS1 cycle route from Essen to Mülheim a.d. Ruhr Certainly not the best choice for a tour with tourist motives, but I wanted to get my own picture of the project. I connected the section to a great bike tour along the Ruhr from Mülheim a.d. Ruhr to Essen and a long but moderate ascent on the route from the Ruhr to the RS1. The weather today was simply terrific and the operation on the often overcrowded stretch along the Ruhr was still manageable. Now I'm still waiting for the RS2 from Kempen via Krefeld, Düsseldorf and Cologne to Bonn

I have often paddled through the "Schwall" on the Isenberg on the Ruhr 🛶. Today I finally made my way and explored the Isenberg including the castle ruins on foot. I followed a tour by Susie Bohl - thank you for sharing! The path leads first through the great Felderbachtal, past the Hölterberg and later down to the Ruhr. Overall, the path was a bit too "asphalt-heavy" for my taste (soft forest floor is better for my knees😉), although the asphalt stretches were hardly used and ran through a great landscape - apart of course from the inevitable sections through towns.

Hiking on the water is always great and there are many points of contact with the Nette and the Niers. Another highlight is Wachtendonk with its castle ruins and the really worth seeing old town 🤗
