The Düssel is an approximately 40 kilometers long right tributary of the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. It rises in Wülfrath-Blomrath on the city limits of Velbert-Neviges in the Mettmann district. After running through the cities of Wülfrath, Wuppertal, Mettmann, Haan and Erkrath, it flows into the Rhine with four arms in the urban area of Düsseldorf. The Düssel is the namesake for the Wülfrath district of Düssel and the Düssel house there, the city of Düsseldorf and its district of Düsseltal.
