The St. John's Monastery in Schleswig was founded in 1194 as a Benedictine monastery. It is located on the northern bank of the Schlei, has survived to this day and is considered the best-preserved medieval monastery in Schleswig-Holstein.
A visit to the freely accessible historical site and a tour of the beautiful Bible Garden is well worth it! However, due to their art treasures, the monastery church, Remter and chapter hall can only be visited as part of a guided tour by appointment.
