Most visitors to Haithabu walk straight to the Viking settlement and back to the parking lot....

I recommend that you start walking in the opposite direction from the parking lot and slowly approach the settlement by circumnavigating Haddebyer Noor....much nicer Viking feeling! 🥾⚔️ 😊

The tour starting at the 🅿️ Karberg Cemetery of Honor around the Haddebyer Noor to the Viking Village and Museum Haithabu is highly recommended. On the eastern side it goes up and down along es Noores on the moraine hills, then over the Noor Bridge, which leads over the ford at Selker and Haddebyer Noor, to Haithabu and Haddeby. Along the trail there are replicas of the rune stones found there. Later on in the course of the trail you have the opportunity to walk along the old fortification wall of the city of Haithabu and to enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape.

Note: Only suitable for prams to a limited extent, as the ascents and descents over moraine hills are managed by stairs. You also have to carry across the Noor Bridge. Unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users.

On this side of the Noor you always have a beautiful view of the Viking village opposite.
