This is now my second trip to the Rhine (certainly not the last one).
The chosen tour should not contain quite as many vertical meters in order not to push my thighs to their limits again.
Note: The ascents and descents were moderate, the altitude difference was almost as much as in Boppard (different than expected).
The round itself is again characterized by wonderful views of the Rhine and the surrounding mountain landscape. Oberwesel itself is also worth a city tour due to the many preserved medieval buildings.
A special eye-catcher is the Schönburg Castle, which overlooks the Rhgein high on a hilltop. Originally my plan was to visit the castle after my tour. After my return to the Rhine Valley I became aware of what this meant for a further climb (see some pictures) and the project was postponed to a later date ... (The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak).

Over the past few years I have driven through the Middle Rhine Valley one or two times. But I was never properly dressed (lack of time).
Inspired by tour suggestions, I used my current vacation and went to Boppard to try, among other things, the Middle Rhine via ferrata and the dream loops of the region.
First of all: Since my tour I've been sneaking through the area like an old man, my thighs are still so chartered.
That on the subject of "self-esteem".
Otherwise it was probably the most spectacular hike I've ever done. The many views of the beautiful Middle Rhine Valley as well as the great paths from hilltop to hilltop were worth the current muscle soreness.
I couldn't really reduce the flood of pictures from this tour, at least for me, every picture was "fought for" with diligence, sweat and a bit of courage.

Very nice there, especially the many narrow paths that you don't see that often. Good idea also the motorcycle / hiking combo 👍

Since I had to do something in Warburg, I decided to make the day a combination of a motorcycle tour and 2 hikes. After a rather "shady" trip to my mandatory destination where I could use the waiting time to thaw again, I went as the first hiking destination to the Aabachtalsperre which had to be circumnavigated.Afterwards I visited the Wewelsburg. This follows in part 2 of my motorcycle hiking day ...

My somewhat limited desire today led to a lap past the Bad Iburg waterworks. Idea: Short but with a few meters of altitude.
The views of the Münsterland lowlands and the castle more than justified my decision.
The open view, however, is due to the storms of recent years, as in many other areas.

Very nice pictures 🤗. I'm happy to see something from home again. In places, however, a lot was cut down 😕.
