always worth a trip with smaller children - during the lockdown, however, only the outer path around the enclosure is passable - the rest is closed - unfortunately

Since the end of the seventies the town of Grevenbroich, in cooperation with the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald e.V., has maintained a 70,000 m² wild game enclosure in Grevenbroicher Bend, in the immediate vicinity of the city center.

Here, interested forest visitors can observe up to 200 different wild and domestic animals in almost natural habitats.

Among other things, you will find: Sika, Dam, mackerel and wild boar, moor and heath worms, water fowl, donkeys, Dexter cattle, Cameroon sheep and goats.

The whole area of approximately 70,000 m² is designed very child-friendly. There is a petting zoo and after the storm "ELA" a large, multi-functional playground has been installed in the enclosure, as well as the opportunity to visit the green classroom in the immediate vicinity, as well as a free Grevenbroich facility.

All of the above facilities are disabled accessible to reach or use. The paths in the game reserve are invariably forest trails. However, these are easy to drive even with the wheelchair. Many seniors from the adjacent retirement home use this popular leisure attraction.

Within the enclosure there are several possibilities for a picnic. There are a variety of tables, benches and lodges available. There is also a barbecue hut, which must be booked very early in the year under the phone number 02181/608 - 450. The rent for the use of the device is 55,00 Euro. School classes, kindergartens and other social facilities pay € 25.00 for events within the week (Monday to Friday).

Dogs are allowed and must be leashed in the pen area.

The game reserve is open all year, daily. The entrance is free of charge!
