The monastery church has stood in Riesa since 1261, originally built in the Gothic style and later supplemented with Baroque. Over the centuries, an impressive choir with a star net vault, an altar with a carved altarpiece and a baptismal font were added, all of which have been preserved to this day. The three crypts in the church served as burial places for the local manor owners in the Middle Ages and can be visited from time to time.
