When visiting Luna Park in Bannewitz, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains from the viewing point. The park has an interesting history: it was once a sandstone quarry, which was later converted into a garbage dump. Today it serves as a place of recreation and relaxation and was redesigned and landscaped thanks to the voluntary work of the Possendorf Landscape Conservation Group and other volunteers. There is also a stainless steel board on the site, made by Kupferecke Göhlert, which shows the surrounding mountains and their heights.
