The history of the Protestant town church in Wermelskirchen can be traced back to the 11th century. Originally it was dedicated to St. Bartholomew, but in the late 16th century was in the context of the Reformation from the original Catholic church, the Protestant town church.
On today's building can be found traces of three construction epochs. The Romanesque tower is the oldest part of the church, while the roof of the tower is a late Baroque design. The nave was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the style of neoclassicism.
Inside, you can admire the simple interior and all pilgrims find a stamp in the anteroom for their pilgrim pass.
