Today we did a great tour through the Bergisches region with the gravel bike. The route was challenging, but absolutely worth it.

This was the introduction to hiking in 2026. Gradually, you've already seen a lot nearby and want something new. The Middle Rhine region is not yet so well known to me. That's why it fit very well.
Getting there and back by train is great. From the station, you are quickly in nature and can look beautifully

Today the last tour to the train station.. sniffing a bit of city air by bike. The air was out! Good thing the tour (Part 1) was so short.

Today we had plenty of panorama on the agenda. And received a lot of respect for free.
From Westerholt we rode to Zeche Hugo and the Halde Rungenberg. Unfortunately, you can't see that much there anymore, but the dimensions are already... gigantic. From there, the route led us to Zeche Ewald, past the

Today's tour was all about trout, railway line paths, and the Wesel-Datteln Canal.
We rode along the Lippe on quiet paths, either on old railway lines or dyke paths. After lunch, we returned to Dorsten on gravel paths along the Wesel-Datteln Canal. A stop at the trout farm was a must!
Afterwards, following

Today's tour started in Haltern am See. From there, we were actually supposed to go into the Haard. But something went wrong when starting the navigation. Therefore, we were actually already on our way to Dorsten early in the morning. After driving 10 km for nothing, we realized: this is the wrong route

After a short coffee break at the Strandcafe on the Datteln-Hamm Canal, we decided to take the train to Dülmen to get to Haltern am See from here. The fresh (head)wind and the slightly aching knee convinced us more than anything else.

With significantly better weather than the previous day, we rode the Sesekeweg.
This route was certainly impressive in terms of landscape. First, the Körnebach accompanied us, later the Seseke, and finally, we rode a stretch along the Datteln-Hamm Canal.
After a short coffee break at the Strandcafe, we

Today, with blue skies, sunshine, and spring-like temperatures, I took a beautiful tour through the Agger and Naafbach valleys. In some places it was very steep, but this allowed me to significantly reduce the amount of asphalt.
The Naafbach valley is recommended at any time of the year!
