Today I could only start at noon, so I hiked stage 1 of the Siegsteig, which was not so long. Has a few nice sections too, but quite a few not-so-nice ones too. Maybe the hazy weather didn't make it any better. The Siegtal near Siegburg is completely noisy from the A3 motorway and near Hennef from the A560. And you can hardly get a bit away from the settlement on this stage. At least I was outside, and in the damp cold a good coffee tastes all the better afterwards.
In the end, the recording is a few meters too long: I ran the last few meters to the S-Bahn to get it and was only able to end the Komoot recording when the train was already moving.

Today I had bad luck with the weather: my family told me in the evening that the sun had shone all day in Porz (Cologne). But I hiked 30 to 40 km further south and didn't see a single ray of sunshine! Oh well. Still beautiful landscape. Should one repeat again on a sunny day.

It should be the best day of the week today - and it certainly was.
I have been to the Siebengebirge and actually only wanted to do 4 summits to protect my knee, which was a little painful at the end of the last tour. But it went very well and I was ready in the late morning, and then I heard the mountain calling :-) So I'm still fixed on the Great Mount of Olives. (Hence the somewhat dented route.)
So the mountains & ruins are:
      • Drachenfels (summit + castle ruins)
      • Schallenberg (but that doesn't count, it's just an insignificant hill on the way to Geisberg)
      • Geisberg
      • Great Mount of Olives
      • Rosenau castle ruins
      • Nonnenstromberg
      • Petersberg
If you want to be really lonely, you shouldn't hike here (or only when it rains :-) But of course there aren't that many people on weekdays.
And anyway: great views of the Rhine Valley, Bonn, the Eifel and Cologne. I can absolutely recommend it!

Started early so that I would be home before the bad weather. This stage goes partly through the forest and partly over fields, I think that's good when you can just look far over the green meadows. Of course, there are also some frustrating dead spruce sections. But overall nice route.

Today I went the last stage of the Siegsteig in very nice weather (although fog was announced). The Freusburg is a cultural highlight, beautiful houses there and beautiful castle complex (with a youth hostel inside, as it should be); Otherwise there is a lot going through the forest, unspectacular, but quite beautiful.

Today I hiked stages 12 and 13 of the Siegsteig. A high-voltage tour: the whole landscape there is filled with high-voltage pylons, and they are building even more. They have their very own aesthetic, which is why there are some photos of them.
Stage 12 (Scheuerfeld to Alsdorf) lives mainly from the great views of the landscape; to Altenkirchen, read on the Steinrother head.
On stage 13, the Druidenstein is of course the highlight, but the view from the Ottoturm (to Siegen, for example) is not to be despised either.

Today I hiked on the Siegsteig from Au to Wissen. Especially in the morning the low sun has gilded the autumn leaves in a way that cannot really be captured photographically.
The section simply consists of a beautiful, wooded landscape, nothing spectacular, many forest farm roads, sometimes paths. A lot of mud at this time of year. On weekdays in autumn you're pretty much alone.

Today I started an afternoon lap on the doorstep in great autumn weather. From Porz south to Zündorf, then with the passenger ferry "Krokolino" over to Cologne-Weiß. From there on the left bank of the Rhine to the southern bridge and finally again briefly on the right bank of the Rhine to the Deutz swing bridge.

Today I went on a botanical hike in the Rureifel with the VHS in the best autumn weather (wind, but a lot of sun), we hiked from Obermaubach via Nideggen after evenings. This is an unreservedly recommendable tour and easy to reach by train.
The first half is very similar to the tour with two of my sons on July 5th (komoot.de/tour/214129553)

      Siegsteig 2nd stage.
After the moderate inclines in the Ice Age moraine landscape near Ratzeburg last week, now really up and down again. And forest paths instead of paved dirt roads.
