The "Dhünnhochfläche" around the Große Dhünn-Tal-barrier and the Eifgental is widely known for its impressive and varied landscape in the midst of glorious nature: marked by a moving topography, large forest areas and open meadows, crossed by Dhünn and Eifgen With its numerous tributaries, the Dhünn plateau is a highly attractive living, recreation and nature area.
Together with the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and the Wupperverband, the surrounding communes of Burscheid, Kürten, Odenthal and Wermelskirchen have developed a project that highlights the peculiarities of the landscape and the importance of the largest drinking water dam in western Germany.
