On the Salvatorberg stands the church of the same name, with former monastery buildings. A chapel was built here in the early Middle Ages, and later a Benedictine monastery, completed in 1005. After several renovations, the church and monastery fell into disrepair until they became municipal property. In 1883, city architect Joseph Laurent reconstructed the church, whose most valuable piece is a Madonna from 1482. After destruction in the Second World War, it was rebuilt, and since 2012, the Aachen Christian Social Welfare Association has occupied the new monastery building.

The Salvatorberg has been a church site since the year 840. However, the current building is more than 1000 years younger and was completed in 1886.

Usually there are not as many people on the Salvatorberg as on the Lousberg. In spring it blooms beautifully in the area. There is also a small way of the cross that you can walk along.
