The Wilhelmsburger Flakbunker was rebuilt in 2013 as part of the International Building Exhibition in an eco-power plant. At the weekend you can participate in sightseeing (but I have not done it myself, see link for info).

On the roof, there is a large viewing terrace 30 meters high with a panoramic view over Wilhelmsburg and the harbor. The terrace can be reached from Café Vju, which is also located on the roof, or directly from the elevator level.

Built in 1943 as a flak bunker, the interior was blown up in 1947 by the British Allies. The up to 3m thick outer wall and ceiling has been preserved, of the 8 storeys 6 were destroyed. In the years 2010 - 2013, he was rebuilt into an energy bunker within the framework of the IBA for 60 years.

With solar power and heat generation and a block heating plant with biomethane. Thus, a civil war became a civil ecological power plant for the district of Reiherstieg. There is also a café on the platform (Café vju). However, only on weekends is the platform with a view to visit, the cafe open and guided tours possible.

The Wilhelmsburg energy bunker is the best viewing point in the south of Hamburg and offers a 360-degree view of the Elbe island. For a long time, the former anti-aircraft bunker in Wilhelmsburg was just a remnant of the Second World War. Today the energy bunker has been created - a local power plant in which renewable energy is produced and which is also one of the best viewing points in the south of Hamburg. The viewing platform, which is around 30 meters high, also offers a 360-degree view of the Elbe island and the port of Hamburg. When visibility is good, you can even see as far as the Harburg mountains and the Georgswerder energy mountain.
