The Hoyo Negro erupted on June 24, 1949 and did not stop until July 31. It is one of the youngest volcanoes on La Palma. Be careful if you get close to the edge because the stones are loose and it can be dangerous.

An absolute must for hikers on La Palma, so to speak the "Best of Tour":
Mountain forest, volcanic landscapes and fantastic views in all directions.
Equipment: The weather up there is often much cooler and windier than on the coast.
Even if it's bathing weather downstairs, I would take a warm jacket, windbreaker, hat, buff with me.
