Currently (December 2025), you may only enter the area around the new Tajogaite volcano on La Palma with certified guides. Toxic gases are still frequently released from the highly active volcanic area. A guided tour costs around €30 for a 3-hour hike. The tour is definitely worthwhile. You stand in awe before the enormous lava mountain of Tajogaite, its summit colored yellow, white, reddish, and black by various minerals.
