The Stations of the Cross, which starts next to Kropsburg, goes straight and steep up to Ottilienberg. The destination is the Wetterkreuz. The 3 meter high cross was erected in 1755. An ancient custom is to set up a weather cross at the top of a mountain to protect against the effects of bad weather. In a prayer procession, you go up the mountain to the cross and ask God to keep it out of the place. These processions are often performed on special days, such as those before Ascension.
