The church was built in It is the oldest in Tachov. It was renewed in 1460 and had to be rebuilt after a fire in 1561. In 1786 the church regulation was lifted and in 1802 it was bought by the Windischgrätz family. She had the building converted into a family crypt. The single-nave building in the Gothic and Renaissance style is located in a park that used to be a cemetery. Some of the valuable tombstones are leaned against the church walls, they are reminiscent of important citizens of Tachau and date from the 15th to 18th centuries.

In the place of today's Church of St. Wenceslas in the park below the polyclinic there was probably the oldest sacral building from before the founding of the town, later the parish church of the royal town of Tachov. The church got its current form in the middle of the 16th century. The decorative tombstones are now placed around the church building.
