The pumped-storage power plant Wendefurth, also known as pumped-storage power station Wendefurth, is the only pumped-storage power plant in Saxony-Anhalt. It is located in the Harz district near the Thaler district of Wendefurth an der Bode and uses an upper basin located above the Wendefurth dam to generate electricity. The construction began in 1960 and commissioning in 1967. From 2012 to 2014, the power plant underwent a revision and modernization (Wikipedia).
