The 106 meter high Rappbodetalsperre is located directly at the entrance to the Bodetal and has been protecting the villages in the valley from flooding for over 50 years.
The Rappbodetalsperre is 415 meters long and with a height of 106 meters it is also the largest dam in Germany. It is able to hold a water surface of 390 hectares and more than 109 million cubic meters of water.
The Rappbodetalsperre forms the core of a large-scale dam system in the Eastern Harz, which consists of the Rappbode and Hassel pre-dams, the transfer dam at Königshütte, the Kalte Bode flood protection basin (almond wood reservoir) near Königshütte, as well as the dam and the Wendefurth pumped storage plant.

A gigantic building with a view of huge amounts of water as well as the highlight the "Titan suspension bridge" with the associated mega zipline.

Due to the storm that passed here was not much going on. Magnificent structure, like any dam.
