The former forester's lodge was built around 1830. It was a working farm in the second half of the 19th century and one of the Franconian Forest's tourist hotspots. On Ascension Day alone, up to 500 people gathered here. Many people came to dance and celebrate—even walking or cycling long distances at night. The forester's lodge is now a listed building and has stood empty for a long time. Unfortunately, vandals have also been at work here.
In 2011, the building acquired a new owner who wanted to restore it and establish it as a tourist destination. So far, nothing has happened, and Langenau, with its dilapidated buildings, remains a ghost town.

The former Langenau forester's house has unfortunately fallen into disrepair. For many decades, attempts have been made in vain to save the listed building from decay.

On the opposite side of the street is the Max-Marien spring. The sour spring was given its name in 1851 on the occasion of a visit by the Bavarian King Max and his wife Marie, when the nobles tasted the mineral spring.
