The "trademark" of the Döbraberg is the bright dome of the radar station of the Bundeswehr. The station, formerly operated by the US Air Force, gives the mountain a distinctive look and is visible from afar. The area around the dome is restricted area and must not be entered. From the Prinz-Luitpold-Turm on the Döbraberg, there is a wonderful all-round view over the Franconian Forest into the Fichtelgebirge, the Thuringian Forest, the Erzgebirge and the Coburger Land. Here meet a variety of trails, including the new long-distance hiking trail Frankenwald Steig, the Frankenweg (a quality trail Wanderbares Germany), the Frankenwald Steigla, Schwarzenbacher views, the Frankenwald Steigla, Zum alten Grenzstein, the Wasserscheidenweg, the Prinz-Luitpold-Weg and numerous local hiking trails.

At almost 795 meters, the Döbraberg is the highest peak in the beautiful Franconian Forest Nature Park. It is a popular destination for hikers, mountain bikers and skiers all year round. From the 18 meter high Prinz Luitpold Tower high up on the Döbraberg you have fantastic panoramic views over the landscapes of the Franconian Forest and Thuringian Forest, the Fichtelgebirge and the Ore Mountains. From afar you can see the dome of the radar station on Döbraberg, which is operated by the Bundeswehr. However, you are not allowed to enter the area around the station. The mountain itself consists mainly of pebble slate. The steep slopes in the south and west are covered with secluded forests.
