The varied hunters' trails lead without any opportunity to stop for refreshments on partially narrow paths through spruce and beech forests around the upper Langenauer valley with many clear views from steep, unsecured rock sections into the valley. In some places a certain level of sure-footedness is required. Highlights are the ramparts of Burgstein (the destroyed Wallenrode Castle; information board), the Eichendorff fountain, the Kämmleinsfelsen, the Rauhgrund, Grießbachgrund and the "Schwammerling" lookout point (the "Schwamma" that used to stand here - as in Schwarzenstein - was not rebuilt due to the limited view). This circular route also requires sturdy shoes, is not suitable for cycling and should not be walked in the snow. In summer you can discover some botanical rarities.

The marked hiking trail is called Dö94 (on Jägersteigla) and is a very beautiful circular trail. Actually worthy of a Steigla, but has not yet been included in the Frankenwaldsteigla collection. Very beautiful even in cloudy weather, with the possibility of finding a salamander on the way.In 2024, the Jägersteigla will probably also become a Steigla.

Really great trails, very narrow between the trees. I love to run there. Of course there are wider paths, but the Steigla simply have more "experience"
