In 2011 the silver fountain above Silberstein was restored to a piece of jewelery on the initiative of members of the Franconian Forest Association of the Dürrenwaid local group. The old wooden trough was removed, the water pipe relocated, the site leveled and covered with slate. In addition, a new bench was set up for hikers. The new granite trough comes from the Fichtel Mountains.
