By the roadside, a simple monument commemorates a tragic event from the final weeks of World War II. A quartzite block bears a twisted three-bladed aircraft propeller, and next to it stands a wooden cross with the inscription "For the American flyers".

The monument was inaugurated in 1947 and commemorates the death of eight American flyers. On April 6, 1945, two American C-47 transport aircraft, which had taken off from Bierset airfield near Liège, collided in dense fog. All eight occupants lost their lives.
