The St. Marxer Friedhof is both a place of culture and a place of relaxation. It connects the cemetery, memorial, cultural monument and park.

This cemetery is the last Biedermeier cemetery in the world and is a listed building. Mozart's grave can be found here. After the blessing at St. Stephan, with which all church ceremonies in Leopoldine Vienna ended, Mozart's body was transferred to the St. Marx cemetery in front of the city in the evening hours of December 6, 1791. The burial took place in a "general simple grave" (a grave common to all social classes). The grave lasted for ten years and was then reoccupied. The presumed burial site was marked in 1859 by a grave monument by Hanns Gasser, which was erected in 1891 Central cemetery. It was not until 1899 that a simple grave monument was built from gravestones in St. Marx, which was soon enriched with the significant broken column. After war damage, the grave monument was given its current appearance in 1950.
