Today we explored the city of Vilnius by bus and on foot. Vilnius is the enchanting capital of Lithuania. A quiet city with a rebellious soul. Here, medieval alleys meet modern architecture. Historic church towers stand next to gleaming glass facades. Vilnius has 33 churches. It is said that if you cannot

Today we visited Rundale Palace in Latvia. Rundale Palace was designed and built in the 18th century by the famous architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Originally planned as a summer residence for the Duke of Courland, the palace was later inhabited by various noble families and even served as a field hospital

Our last destination in Estonia was Pärnu. It is a luxury spa resort. Pärnu attracts visitors with its long sandy beaches, numerous restaurants, bars, SPAs, and a relaxed atmosphere. We saw the beach, the promenade, and some historic houses. It was a nice walk. Komoot also made me fly again.

Today we explored Tallinn thoroughly. First, we looked at the Rotermann quarter. The quarter consists of historic factory buildings and impressive new architecture, which create a unique atmosphere where past and present merge wonderfully. Afterwards, we hiked up the 48 m high Domberg, called Toompea

Today we landed in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, at noon. We got an overview of the city, partly on foot, partly by bus. Tomorrow we will really explore the city. But the first impression greatly delights us. It is a clean city with many historical buildings, modern districts, and is located directly

Today we took a trip with the pensioners. We visited the Südbahn Museum. That impressed me a lot. Afterwards, we drove to Mariazell where we took the museum tram. Afterwards, we went on a boat trip on the Erlaufsee. A great trip in a fantastic area with nice people in glorious weather. What more do you need to be happy.

Today we visited our friends @Monika M. and @Gerhard M.. They showed us their Au where they go hiking almost every day. A very idyllic area through which we walked. But the most important thing today was our conversations, because we haven't seen each other for so long. Thank you Monika and Gerhard for taking the time.

Since we were at the airport today, we drove to Klein-Neusiedl afterwards. We wanted to see if bee-eaters were there. They are there but very hidden and sparse. However, we were rewarded with the sighting of a Imperial Eagle.

Today we did a round in my old hometown. It's so striking to see how high the grain already is. Didn't we just rejoice yesterday that we saw the first tender blades of grass? We were especially delighted by two red kites that accompanied us for part of the way. Some field hares and deer were out and about.

Before we fly back home, we will visit Bari. Bari is located on the Adriatic Sea and is known as the Gateway to the Orient thanks to its long trading tradition. In the narrow alleys, you can watch women skillfully shaping Puglia's pasta specialty, Orecchiette. You also repeatedly encounter fruit vendors

Today we drove to Vieste. In this case, the sentence 'the journey is the destination' is true. The drive along the coast with the magnificent views is a journey in itself. The bus had the opportunity to stop for a photo stop twice. The small town of Vieste is located on the eastern tip of the Gargano

Today we visited Trani. Here Komoot taught me how to walk on water. 😉
Now Komoot has deleted my text about Trani and Castel del Monte 3 times. Honestly, I don't give a damn now. It costs time and nerves and it's not worth it to me on vacation.

Today we visited the Trulli houses. For me, these houses were a reason for this trip because I finally wanted to see them in person.
The Trulli are cylindrical buildings with a conical roof. Their peculiarity lies in the fact that they consist exclusively of dry stone construction, without the use of

In the afternoon, we visited Trakai Island Castle and the Karaites. The Karaites are the smallest Turkic people living in Lithuania. Around 300 families of this nationality were resettled in Trakai in the 14th century. The first Karaites were the prince's personal guard. They settled near the castle
