Belvedere Palace "nice view"
The unique overall ensemble with the two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere and the extensive garden, is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in the world. In the 18th century, the Austrian general Prince Eugene of Savoy commissioned the renowned baroque architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt to build a summer residence. After Prince Eugene's death, Maria Theresia acquired the entire complex and made the Upper Belvedere the exhibition venue for the imperial collections - and thus one of the first public museums in the world. The Marble Hall offers an incomparable view of Vienna, important historical events took place here. Magnificent exhibitions are shown in the Lower Belvedere, originally the residence of Prince Eugene. The modern pavilion of Belvedere 21 by architect Karl Schwacher is the scene of contemporary art.

The Belvedere Palace in Vienna has a lot to offer: several magnificent, baroque buildings now serve as a museum with a wide range of exhibitions. In addition, the wonderfully manicured palace garden offers an incomparable view - "belvedere" (Italian: beautiful view). The history of Belvedere Palace has a number of important moments, such as the signing of the State Treaty in the Marble Hall in 1955, a room that is a must-see for both tourists and locals.

Belvedere is a baroque palace complex, which is incomparable in its situation, architecture and wealth of art. The brilliant achievement was provided by Lukas von Hildebrandt.
The "secret emperor" Prince Eugene of Savoy had the Belverde summer palace built behind the glacis belt. Divided into Lower Belverde and Upper Belverde, surrounded by a park created by Dominique Girard (also Nymphenburg and Schleissheim).
Visiting the park is free. There are museums in the buildings for a fee.
