Great area, great pictures. I've also been to Mauterndorf on vacation.

Started from Katschberg Höhe on fresh, untouched snow below Tschanek and headed toward the base of Kareck. The track had no prints yet, just soft powder that made every step a grind and every view worth it. I passed Hanslbauerhütte and Pritzhütte, stopping often for photos as the landscape opened up in bright, clean winter light. On the way back I caught and passed the horse carriage from Pritzhütte, unintentionally entertaining the passengers in the back. Quiet, exhausting, beautiful from start to finish.

A small snowstorm greeted the first meters above Katschberg Höhe. First snow of the season after bare slopes the day before. Fresh powder over ice made the climb surprisingly surefooted, so I ran toward Aineck. Halfway up the clouds parted and a sharp sunset lit the ridge. The wind rose and the surface turned too sketchy near the high point, so I turned back. I reached the base as the last light faded. Cold air, empty mountain, right call.

Late afternoon climb toward Tschanek through the ski slopes of Katschberg. Low clouds clung to the ridges while patches of blue opened overhead. On the way back the sinking sun lit the distant mountains and the air turned crisp. Cool enough to feel fast, quiet enough to have the whole place to myself.

Started in St. Michael im Lungau and followed the path up Pfaffenberg, passing the short Vogelwanderweg on the way. The climb was steady and ideal for running, gaining height smoothly through forest and open slopes. Near the top I left the main path and cut through a steep forest section to reach a different route for the descent. On the way back to the village a closed trail section blocked the way, but with darkness closing in there was no real choice but to pass through. A quiet, challenging run with just the right mix of rhythm, effort, and a bit of adventure.

I went out in the early afternoon heat, running through Benjakitti Park with its maze of paths, dense greenery, and water views. The sun was strong and the air thick, but the mix of plants, trails and occasional shade spots made it feel like a hidden wild spot in the city. Even with the sweat and sun beating down, the park’s layers kept it engaging all the way.

I spent the day walking through old Macau in the thick heat before the storm moved in. The air felt heavy and the sky kept shifting between bright and grey, a quiet tension before everything would shut down later that night. The streets near the Ruins of São Paulo were packed with tourists, but only a few turns away the city felt slower and more real. The route wound past gardens, old cemeteries, and hilltop views, each corner showing a mix of chaos and calm that only Macau seems to manage. By the time I finished, the wind had picked up and the city was bracing for the next signal.

I ran between the ferry piers and the convention center along the promenade, letting the harbour views and city skyline define the route. The heat pressed in, but the combination of water, sunlight, and steel all around kept the run in focus, brutal, but vivid.

From the To Tei Wan bus stop we climbed steeply past Fat Mouse Rock to Shek O Peak. After the climb it turned into a mostly flat walk through the forest, before the long stairs down to Big Wave Bay. The beach seemed officially closed for pollution, but people were swimming and surfing anyway. Facilities at the finish were great with toilets, water fountains, and showers. Before heading back to the city on bus 9 we grabbed a snack at Eric’s Kitchen on the beach, surprisingly good and affordable.

A sunset run along the river in heavy heat and thick air. Clouds hung low, the path felt like a steam room, and every step was more about grit than speed.

I started with a lap on the fitness trail circling Malushan Park, flat and empty except for me, the only one foolish enough to run in that heat. After that I went up to the top of Malu Hill and then higher to Malushan Mountain, a tough climb in the thick, humid air. Once out of the park the route stayed flat, passing the stadium before ending at the Liu Jiang river. The mix of steep forest paths and city streets made it feel like two very different runs, both demanding in the midday conditions.
