The Castle de la Faille on the Minnewater in Bruges was built in 1890 in neo-Gothic style to a plan by architect Charles De Wulf for the flower trader Leon De Wulf.
This merchant had a flour mill along the Kolenkaai, and was also alderman of Bruges.
In 1980 the city council bought the castle and realized the full connection to the Minnewater by expanding the park. The castle was protected as a monument in 1996.

It offers a fantastic view from the opposite shore and from the adjacent bridge to the small castle. It is worthwhile to plan on a city tour.
