The St. Salvator Cathedral in the Belgian city of Bruges has been the episcopal church of the Roman Catholic diocese of Bruges since its re-establishment in 1834. Before that it was a parish and collegiate church.

Saint Salvator's Cathedral was built in 1127 and is dedicated to Saint Donatius. Today it is the main church of the Bruges Diocese; a function that had been taken over since 1789 when the Sint-Donaaskerk was demolished.
Fun fact: Recovered works of art are displayed in this cathedral as an ode to St. Donaas Church.

The cathedral has a centuries-long architectural history, starting with the previous Romanesque building from the 12th century. The current situation was only achieved at the end of the 19th century.
