BAALBORN DEDICATED A MAJOR WORK TO THE DEAD On October 18, 1956, on the day of national mourning, the community of Baalborn could inaugurate the newly created memorial. The daily newspapers gave an appreciation of the celebration with the following wording:
BAALBORN DEDICATED A GREAT WORK TO THE DEAD
The memorial in Baalborn consists of 16 stone blocks grouped around a cross and a monumental sandstone gate.
