The "Hossinger Leiter" Traufgang is one of the shorter tours at 9.2 km, but it is technically demanding. The tour starts at the Brunnental hiking parking lot. You reach it by turning left into Steinstraße after the entrance to Albstadt-Laufingen, coming from Albstadt-Lautlingen on the B463. There is

Today (4th day of our hiking week on the Albtrauf) we hiked the Traufgang Ochsenbergtour. It has a direct feeder path right from the campsite „Sonnencamping Albstadt“ – so straight out of the tent and onto the path. On the feeder path, you manage 112 vertical meters over a distance of 900 m, until you

Third day of our hiking week on the Swabian Jura. Today, the "Zollern Panorama" trail was on the agenda. The start is at the "Sticht" car park, shortly after the end of A.-Onstmettingen in the direction of Balingen on the L360. After an initial ascent via a meadow path, you reach the cliff edge (Traufkante

After the "Felsenmeersteig" Traufgang, something lighter was on the plan today. The "Wiesenrunde" Traufgang is absolutely "Mega" in terms of scenery. We started from the hiking parking lot at the edge of A.-Pfefflingen towards Bailingen. The first 600 m lead steeply uphill over a meadow path to the edge

We started our hiking week on the Albtrauf with the king tour among the Traufgänge. Since we had set up our base camp at the "Sonnencamping Albstadt" campsite, the start in Mühlgasse in Lautingen was the closest. There are numerous parking spaces at the sports center. We hiked counter-clockwise and from

Today the new 'Hiwwelroute Vorholz' was officially opened. It largely coincides with a hike we did on December 3rd last year, only that we had included Orbis and the Selzquelle in the route back then.
At 10:00 AM, speeches were given at the former Vorholz forest house by representatives of the institutions

We were at the Donnersbergmarathon 2026 today, an established hiking event that had to be cancelled this year because Landesforsten Rheinland-Pfalz demanded such extensive safety measures along the route from the organizer that a voluntary association simply cannot manage. When I hike in the forest

This tour had been on my wish list for a very long time. Even the drive to Olsbrücken through the small villages of the Palatinate was beautiful. The motto of the tour "devilish climbs and heavenly views" describes the program very well. Devilish climbs as a sporting element and heavenly views as a tourist

Today I was looking for a quiet Sunday walk and it reminded me that we still hadn't been to the Micheltal valley near Sulzheim. I didn't know it at all, so we set off.
The path starts in Sulzheim at the sports field - there is also a free parking lot available there. It then leads into a beautiful nature

According to our plan to hike the Selz in stages from source to mouth, today we walked from Köthenmühlkreuz near Sörgenloch to Nieder Olm.
It's a paved farm track to the Darmstädter Mühle mill and then onto a meadow path that leads along the renatured Selz.
I was totally impressed, I wouldn't have expected

To conclude the "Spessart Hiking Week", the "Island of Tranquility" robber path was on the plan. The name of the tour says it all. I recommend hiking the tour counter-clockwise, as recommended, because the steep slope behind the Waldhotel Heppe is certainly easier to manage uphill than downhill – take

Today, on day 5 of our "Spessart Hiking Week", we hiked the "Robber's Path" "Stories and Anecdotes" -Mespelbrunn. It starts there at the hiking parking lot. Initially, you can observe beaver activity along the Elsava for over a kilometer. At the water wheel in Heimbuchenthal, you walk a short distance

Today's fourth robber's path „Himmelshirtenweg“ was by far the most beautiful in our Spessart hiking week so far. It starts in Dambach at the hiking parking lot. It is located directly at the entrance to the town from the direction of Heimbuchenthal. We walked the tour counter-clockwise – which is why

I was made aware of the Gustav-Pfarrius-Wanderweg trail in Guldental through a local hiking portal. Gustav Pfarrius, who was born in Heddesheim on New Year's Eve of the year 1800, was a German poet who described the Nahetal valley in songs out of his love for his homeland. The idea came to him on his
