The 18.52 m high Bavaria figure above the Theresienwiese and in front of the Hall of Fame was designed by Ludwig Schwanthaler, only cast by Ferdinand von Miller's workshops after his death and then installed in 1850. For the first time since antiquity, there was an ore figure (60 steps) that could be walked on inside as a technical masterpiece.

Directly on the Theresienwiese is the Bavaria, symbol and secular patroness of the Free State of Bavaria. The huge statue on the Theresienwiese measures 18 meters and is cast in bronze. A spiral staircase leads to the head of the Bavaria, from where you have a unique view of the Theresienwiese and the adjacent districts. As one of Munich's landmarks, it is a popular photo opportunity and a meeting place for tourists.
