Odeonsplatz (developed in the early 19th century by Leo von Klenze) with the parvis of the Residenz, Theatine Church and the Feldherrnhalle (built by Friedrich von Gärtner 1841-1844 by order of King Ludwig I). The square was the scene of a fatal gun battle which ended the march on the Feldherrnhalle during the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch.
