Already before 900 Niurn, Stone Age, Germanic and Slavic settlements were detected in the district. Since the time of the Magyar invasions Burgstetten was the site of a castle. However, evidence of past settlements and defenses can be found on the mountain. Also, the former location of a Roman camp is suspected that you would like to track down with the help of science.

It is a small hill in beautiful countryside northwest of Niemberg. In good weather you have a nice view, u.a. for example to Petersberg
