The Kröllwitz weir is located at Saale-km 89.44 and is spatially part of the Halle-Trotha lock. It is a fixed overflow weir that keeps the river dammed up to the Gimritz lock for shipping. It was built around 1884 and completely renovated in 1964. The total width of the weir is 105 m. The weir consists of quarry stone masonry with an upper sheet pile wall. From the sheet pile wall to the middle of the weir crest, the surface of the weir consists of a 0.40 m thick reinforced concrete cover. The covering of the lower side of the weir consists of a paving with quarry stones and grouted joints. The weir was founded on piles.Source: wsa-elbe.wsv.de/Webs/WSA/Elbe/DE/Wasserstrassen/05_Saale/02_Wehre/Wehr_Krollwitz.html

When the tide is high, it rustles up here! The Forstwerder Bridge is right next to the weir, from which you can see the weir very well.
