The Halle Tower is a gate tower in the west of Zörbig's old town and, alongside the church and castle towers, has a decisive influence on the city skyline. As in LÖBEJÜN, Köthen or Delitzsch, the associated gate was named after the nearby city of HALLE. Of the once three city gates, only the slender tower remained, as the fortifications were removed in favor of road construction from the middle of the 19th century.
Zörbig was elevated to town status in the late 15th century, but the Halle Tower is largely influenced by the Renaissance period and is adorned by four Renaissance gables that surround a curved dome with a lantern. The construction was completed in 1556. The Hallesche Tor itself also had a Renaissance gable, but was demolished in 1893.anhalt-bitterfeld.im-bild.org/fotos/tuerme-uhren/hallescher-turm-zoerbig
