On the slope of the Mönchholzkopf (306m) above the Mönchsrinne, a small branch path leads to an old slate mine. As is usually the case, the tunnel itself is barred in favor of the bats that live here. In the large quarry you can still see the remains of the building and some tools.
At the top of the slate dump there is an (unfortunately) ailing rest bench with a table.
