Königstein's Protestant church was built in 1888 as a neo-Gothic church. At that time, it served as a court church for the newly formed parish and the members of the House of Nassau. Duke Adolph and Duchess Adelheid-Marie made a significant contribution to the church's furnishings: as a talented landscape painter, the Duchess contributed pulpit and gallery paintings, and together with her husband she donated bells and chandeliers to the church.
