Hiking

Only in a few places on this stretch of river can hikers or walkers get really close to the Ruhr. In large parts of the Ruhr floodplains, you can only just make out the Ruhr. It is all the more beautiful when you actually get a glimpse of it.

It is worth climbing the hill, because here you can look into areas of the Ruhrwiesen that are not accessible, such as the "Ruhraue Witten-Gedern" nature reserve. Binoculars are helpful here.
