    "... The colliery is named after the former owner of the coal fields, Friedrich Heinrich von Diergardt, who inherited it from his father in 1869. His heirs later sold the fields because they were not interested in coal production themselves. But the name of the Coal fields remained and later carried over to the mine itself. After test drilling in the years 1901-1904, the decision was made to found the Steinkohlenbergwerk Friedrich Heinrich AG Aktiengesellschaft in 1906. The sinking of shaft I began in 1907. ... "
