Ancient European Beech Trees on Leichenweg

On the "Leichenweg", on which until around 100 years ago the deceased from the surrounding villages were brought to the Alps for burial in the absence of their own cemeteries, there are these giant beech trees 🌳 as silent witnesses of these funeral procession 🎩. Their age is estimated at 200 and 260 years, respectively.
