The state forest Rheurdt / Littard is a closed deciduous forest area. It is characterized by pedunculate oak hornbeam forests and acid beech forests and has a very low proportion of softwood. The centerpiece of the nature reserve is the 25-hectare Littard natural forest cell. In this area, no management takes place, so that wild plants and animals can develop undisturbed.
