About Koga-Willi 🚲👣

This morning I read in the newspaper: "Spring tours by bike"
      Strawberry pie and asparagus tour
      Around Xanten by nodes.
That's exactly the right thing for us, I thought.
The start was the junction 53 in Birten at the church. You can read the description of the route in the attached link. We started a little too early with a cool 10 ° C and a fresh wind. After that, however, it got warmer. However, we did not see anything of the strawberry cake and some photos were not saved either😕

So we certainly did not drive an average of 5.6 km / h, then we would have fallen off the bike🙄This beautiful tour over approx. 48km from Geldern via Kevelaer, Twisteden, a piece over the border to the Dutch neighbors and then via Walbeck and Pont back to Geldern was unfortunately only recorded as far as the bunker settlement. Then the GPS signal disappeared. But almost all of the photos have been recorded - not all of them in the correct order. Shame🤔
By the way: After the tour there was fresh Walbeck asparagus at home

Ringenberg Castle, that's where we've always wanted to go. If not now then when. From the Weseler Rheinufer parking lot, it went straight over the Rhine dike in the direction of Flüren and then through the Diersfordter Wald. At Diersfordter Waldsee we found a wonderful place to take a break with a view of the lake. But after 10 km a break would be a bit too early. So it went on through Hamminkeln towards the castle.
The castle (moated castle) is very nicely located and is also quite well preserved. On a bench with a view over the moat towards the castle we took a short break ☕ in the sun. We continued along the Issel in the direction of Obrighoven. For a few kilometers there was only one footpath alongside the Issel, which was a bit of a challenge for our city bikes and for us. Back in Wesel on the Rhine promenade, a lot of visitors had already gathered for Corona times. There weren't any free seats, but the ice cream tasted good standing up too.

Today's tour began in beautiful sunshine and a tail wind towards Tönisberg. It felt really good. But then the sun left us and the cold north wind got stronger and stronger. The inclines on the heights with the icy wind in the face were no longer so pleasant. So go home to the warmth and sip a hot cup of coffee. But I wouldn't do this tour over the Schaephuysener Heights anymore, because the concrete partial routes - with our narrow tires - were very difficult to drive on. Of course, things look different with better suspension or MTB's.

Shit, whenever you have to go fast - a flat tire aber, but luckily on the front wheel, the tube can be changed quickly.
We are invited to a birthday coffee☕. (Corona-compliant in the garden, of course, and far apart) After two cups of coffee and a piece of cake, we started again through the beautiful nature with a little refreshed wind

Starting point: car park in front of the Wesel Rhine bridgeToday we connected the Bislicher Stork Route with a water route. Past beautiful areas of water where you can even rent houseboats for a vacation. In the Bislicher area there are seemingly innumerable dredging holes (gravel excavations that have filled with water. Nice to look at, but very bad for agriculture because the arable land is missing.
In advance I can say about the stork route, if you want to see storks with their offspring, you should wait, because the eggs have only just been laid in the three occupied nests. The route is very nicely laid out, but the nests are far from the paths.
The village of Bislich is not only very popular with its human visitors, since 2011 storks have also discovered the village on the Rhine for themselves. The cycling and hiking route leads past seven stork nests.
Here is the route description of the 14km long stork route:

      For those interested only😉
My e-bike share (e-consumption on this tour) over 44km was 1 bar out of 5 bars
(Tour only eco level with 400th Accu, no wind, hardly any incline)

Warm-up lap die for the next nice days🌞 and test lap after the corona vaccination that has just taken place.
Today I spared the battery and even only climbed the inclines with muscle power to check what the balance of strength looks like. The result gives hope: everything as always. The next tour can begin😊

Nordic walking tour on the newly signposted Sonnenkino hiking trail on the Schaephuysener heights. On the way there are some loungers (sensory loungers) to enjoy the sun and the landscape.
The Sonnenkino is a hiking trail on the Schaephuysener ridge. It has a length of approx. 5 kilometers and connects Mühlenberg, Hahnenberg and Windberg with each other. The starting point of the hiking trail is at the St. Michael Tower.
Due to the elevated position of the Schaephuysener ridge you have an unobstructed view of the sunrise (looking towards the Ruhr area) and the sunset (looking towards Geldern). New sensory loungers and benches invite you to watch these natural spectacles in peace and relaxation.

Round ... 🙄 Yes, that was a round, but only half of it was recorded.
No GPS signal, no sun ☁ and few photos. But it was freezing and windy. Especially right on the Rhine, where the wind was blowing cold in the face.

To get some air, we drove a quick little lap today "without luggage bags". It felt like road cycling, so easy and free. But it was probably just the tail wind that drove our Koga's so, as we discovered on the return trip. The two wind speeds announced by the weather report were probably more like four wind speeds.
At the Töppersee there was already a lot of people walking around the beautiful lake.
