In the second half of the 19th century, when the rich liked to relax at the Rupelmondse Kreek, banker and brickmaker Waterschoot built this pavilion at his favorite fishing spot. It later became the property of the soapmaking family De Coninck from Temse and the matins was given its current name: the Coninckshofje.

Actually, this place was already known in the 19th century as a stopping place along the creek and after W.O. I even started a small-scale horticultural business.

A special building in the middle of the creek bank. The pavilion was built in the middle of the 19th century as a leisure residence for the wealthy bourgeoisie. Several similar buildings have since disappeared. Nature has been restored. Fortunately, this location has been given a new meaning for bird watchers. A visit to this pavilion is a must. Sniff the days gone by... Here you will certainly relax in this environment. Picnic tables next to the orchard invite you to linger.
