Of the many brick factories in the region, this is one of the few fully preserved brick factories. Today it is a museum and you can immerse yourself in the history of industrial culture here, where our roots lie - because without bricks the industrial revolution would not have been possible in this form. Only bricks made it possible to build countless houses and factories quickly. Without bricks we would not be where we are today. In short: there is no iPhone without a brick.
The first mention of a brickworks at this location dates back to 1346, and in 1840 there were even three brickworks. Through purchases in 1923 and 1947, these small brick factories became the property of the Frateur family. The last owner died in 1986.
