Since 1930, the jubilant clock of Louis Zimmer's Astronomical Studio has been housed in the tower. The original tower dates from the 13th century and was then called Corneliustoren. He was part of the defensive belt around the city. At 12 noon, well-known characters from the national and Lierse history from 1830 to 1930 appear in the side wall.

Unique clock tower in the center of Lier
The Zimmer Tower is named after its creator: Louis Zimmer. He was a notorious clockmaker, an astronomy autodidact and the creator of three world-famous works: the Jubelklok, the Astronomical Studio and the Astronomical Miracle Clock.
Since 1930, the Zimmer Tower has housed two of his 'inventions': the Jubelklok and the Astronomical Studio. Together they count 75 dials. The original tower dates from the 13th century and was then called the Corneliustoren. He was part of the defense line around the city.
The 'Pavilion' has been standing next to the Zimmer Tower since 1960. It houses the wonder clock, which was designed for the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1935. The structure is 4.67 meters high, weighs 2041 kg and has 93 dials and 14 automatics.
