City Park Lier

The city park is an oasis of peace in the center. This modest park is highly valuable due to the wide variety of tree species. You can walk along the pond with white pedestrian bridges and enjoy a picnic on the lawn.

You will find a large variety of trees and shrubs here. In the middle of the greenery of the city park is a statue of the blacksmith Louis van Boeckel.
At the height of the former “Groote Hofstadt”, the later Timmermans-Opsomerhuis, there used to be a pleasure garden with buildings, greenhouses, a garden, a bleaching plant and hayfields. In 1917-1919 the land was purchased by the city and redeveloped as a public park.
In the city park there is an adventure playground, a lawn for sunbathing and picnicking with a sun tent.
Storytelling takes place regularly in the story house.
The Coffee House offers tasty snacks, drinks and ice creams.
