Directly behind the dyke near Barnitz, a long-drawn-out strong-water sink invites moor frog, pond newt and garlic toad to a honeymoon. Depending on the level of the Elbe, this depression may be full for a long time or dry in April. For tadpoles and molt larvae is therefore urgent. If the water dries out before the metamorphosis to rural life is over, they have little chance of survival.Source:

The Bracks Smoked Water are located directly on the Elbe dike and the Elbe Cycle Path. A very nice area for cycling or hiking. You have good opportunities to watch birds here and from April to August you can hear the mating call of the fire-bellied toad.

Very pretty! There are also well-designed information boards. For a few nice photos worth the descent!
